NCL Jade: Greece and Turkey Cruise - June 5-12, 2022   Embarkation:   New muster drill is SO much better -- watch video at check in and again before going to the port, go to your assigned muster station for scanning/learn where it is as soon as boarding. Then when onboard, they demonstrated the warning horns and played a long/detailed safety announcement over the speaker and into rooms. I covered embarkation fully in post .  Food: The kids and I really like O'Sheehan's, the 24 hour Irish Pub. I never got to try any of the burgers. The kids had them, and they looked very good. I had the wings once; they are always very good -- and the fish and chips. We shared appetizers -- pretzel bread with beer cheese dip and spinach and artichoke dip. The kids loved the nachos. Travis prefers the buffet with its Indian options. I'm not a big fan of the buffet. It was well arranged with stations. It has lost the hard/normal ice cream (as opposed to soft serve); I like the normal ice cre...

Santorini - June 10, 2022 Santorini, 8 am - 9:30 pm, so a lot time in port. This was also a tender port, and doh, we were about to head down right as they announced open tender. Bad timing; luckily, it was not too busy. On the tender boat -- Joel, Travis, and Owen. An interesting view from the tender boat.  We took the cable car up instead of walking or the mules. The cable car was 6 Euro for adults and 3 Euro for kids for a one-way ticket; they accepted credit cards. The cruise ship recommended not taking the mules saying that they were not well cared for. We saw them when walking down the switchbacks later but could not tell how well cared for they were or not. I'm not a fan of mules/horses on trails in general -- smelly and leave messes. Cabin car going the other way; they waved for the picture. View of the ship from the cable car. The inner workings We found a McDonald's for Travis's coffee restroom break. The receipt had a code for the restroom that reset regularly, bu...

Rhodes - June 10, 2022 Rhodes, 7am to 6pm, was a great medieval city. It is very close to Turkey. Fortress and Costa ship from the ship. Fortress walls with Travis and Owen.  Outside the port and to the marina The only minaret left standing in Rhodes.   Interesting old alleys to roam around. Art inside the French Embassy We enjoy walking on the promenade deck in the evening to burn off some of those dinner calories. A great sunset from the aft MDR and the moon from deck.   Next up very beautiful Santorini... Table of Contents
