Mexico City - Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Tlalpexco - Feb 2025

Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Tlalpexco - February 9, 2025   We took another weekend morning calm bus to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, which is northeast of Centro. Here is the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Mass was in progress, and there were many people there.  The Pocito Chapel or The Chapel of the Little Well that protects the natural/miraculous spring where Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared. People came to the spring to repent and to seek cures.   This is the old Cathedral; it was also being used for Mass this morning.  A view of Mexico City from above.  After the basilica, we stopped at a close by grocery store for change. They required that backpacks be checked, so I stayed at the front while Travis got a few snacks. They also had a restroom that we visited.  We went through a market, and I got some French fries that Travis helped me eat. Museo Soumaya and Cablebus ride  - February 8, 2025   We took a bus to the Polanco neighborhood. This was even further than our bus yesterday. However, it was now Saturday where we found the buses much less busy and much more pleasant. Saturday and Sunday mornings were less busy than on the weekdays. The weekend afternoons were still busy. The Polanco neighborhood is known as a business person's neighborhood with a Rodeo Dr, Beverly Hills of Mexico City. We talked the park, down the Rodeo Dr., and I had a donut while we waited for the museum to open at 10:30 am. Museo Soumaya was a free museum (also with free restrooms; though with my donut, we had gotten change today); the building was amazing and so was the collection (much more in it than I expected).  Here was the beautiful building. It was just as beautiful inside with swirled ramps to the different levels (I estimated 6 levels) and a glass skylight at the top. I googled it, and supposedly, it cost almost $...
