We found the comet; very cool! We found it first with a Night Vision camera mode with my cell phone, and then Travis took a good picture with his fancy camera.
Flight and Reykjavik: July 10-11, 2023 We had a NCL booked Delta flight from DFW to Detroit, a 1:30 hour layover, before an overnight flight to Reykjavik, or rather Keflavik (KEF). This overnight flight was about 5 hours, so not much time to (try to) sleep. I think of Delta as being good, but I only had Sun Chips for breakfast. They did not promise breakfast, and I like Sun Chips, but for breakfast time? The dinner meal service was weak too; a cheese, fruit, and almond tray (Travis got) or chicken salad sandwich on a croissant (I got; though I don't like chicken salad). Travis's was missing the cheese, the main course. They happily got him another tray of the full meal. We traded some, and Travis let me eat some cheese on the croissant top. It was pretty good. We had loud kicking kids behind us, and a Mom and good kids, with her husband, to the right. My fault, I picked the back of the plane where there are more kids. Oddly, there was not a restroom in the back. Delta now provi...
Planning for a great Mediterranean Cruise Cruise: We booked this cruise very early (Nov 9, 2023) based on a very exciting cruise itinerary and a 20% off future credit that NCL gave us due to missed ports on a July 2023 Iceland/Greenland cruise. All of these ports were new to us. We planned two days before seeing Florence and Rome before (I had been to these before, new to Travis). With people on our Cruise Critic role call, we booked the Castle and Cave tour in Koper, Slovenia and Pompeii, Sorrento, and the Amalfi Coast tour in Naples. Later, the FB group was much more active. We had been on the ship before, 15 years ago, taking our oldest at age 4, on his first cruise. I like the NCL Jewel class ships. We booked an Inside on deck 9 -- 3 decks (for stair climbing) to the buffet, 2 decks to the promenade, and 3 decks to the MDRs. Flight: I found a cheap flight with 6 and 4 hour layovers in London (eek! -- well, the 6 hour they made longer after we had it booked). We f...
First spotting of P&O Britannia in Southampton on cruise day, September 13, 2024! We picked P&O UK because they had a Norwegian Fjords cruise in September (there were more cruise line choices in the summer, but the flight prices were double), trying a UK cruise line sounded interesting, it is a budget cruise line with the daily service change included in the price, and the room came with kettle for Travis. The British were very lovely to cruise with. It was a challenge to book from the US though, being only bookable through vacationstogo.com. I used Emma Cruises's travel agent, who facilitated all the work with vacationstogo.com; the invoice came from vacationstogo.com. Cruise Planned itinerary: Before check-in, my.pocruises.com, we logged in with our booking number, and they had a spot for registration info. I got our passport info entered with no issue. However, it would not take, or keep, our phone numbers entered. I got both of ours in with no country...
