Flight and first night in Athens - June 2-3, 2022 Our flight was at 10 am. There was a high chance of rain predicted for our flight day, and it did rain while we were still in bed but stopped for take off. This is also the only rain that we got in the DFW area in June and so far in July -- okay, unrelated. In fact, I noted the cement at DFW drying as we waited patiently for the plane to take off to Atlanta. We got up early, at 6 am. The kids had been out of school since May 27th, but we get up at 6:30 am normally for work. We got ready, breakfast, and wrapped up the last of the packing and house stuff. The airport is about 20-30 minutes from our house, so we left at about 8 am. Travis pre-booked and bought DFW express north parking, which is covered. They have a shuttle that the person at the front organizes based on what terminal you are going to. Since we were on Delta, we were out of terminal E. Hi, welcome and intro to the Worldwide Wanderers!

Hi! We are Tammy and Travis from Texas. We enjoy traveling; it is a great teacher. Our favorites are cruising, to see the world one port at a time, and National Parks (with some cities thrown in).  We currently both work full time and are finishing raising two kids; they are both in high school next year. When they graduate and we retire, I have big travel plans: Antarctica cruise; European grand tour – backpacking with wheels and not too many hostels, given our age; a Queen Mary 2 transatlantic crossing, American and Canada National Park tour; etc.; etc.   Until then, we take trips when we can. We just got back from a Greece and Turkey cruise that I will show you soon. We took the kids, due to covid-19; if we had to quarantine, we needed our responsibilities with us. We all had a great time. We are also planning Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks this summer with the kids – I know that Yellowstone just flooded. Travis and I went to Death Valley in March.  My lov...
